Our Approach to Couples Therapy
Sometimes couples and families get into communication patterns that lead to disharmony. This can take the form of disconnection, arguing, distancing, anger or frustration. Often people need to learn new strategies to reconnect emotionally and create space for healing and bonding with their partner. Our therapists use Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFCT), an attachment theory-focused technique which research has shown significantly decreases conflict and facilitates greater connection and intimacy for couples. EFCT additionally benefits each member of the couple, facilitating their emotional well-being, healing attachment injuries, and helping them build a more secure attachment style and overall more satisfying relationships.
